Whites Abandon Obama
Written by Patrick Krey on December 7, 2009 – 6:46 pm -Uh-oh! As if it wasn’t bad enough that he’s losing his left-wing support over his Bushian surge in Afghanistan.
Obama’s Approval Slide Finds Whites Down to 39%

Poll: Obama faces white flight
Just 39 percent of white Americans now approve of President Obama’s job performance, a steep drop-off of support since he was inaugurated in January, according to the latest Gallup Poll.
In his first full week in office, starting Jan. 26, just over six in 10 white people gave him their approval. Now that number is down to under four in 10, indicating a net drop of 22 points.
Black voters, meanwhile, have continued to support Obama to the tune of approximately 90 percent.

Understatement of the Year
Written by Stephen Bone on October 9, 2009 – 3:11 pm -Regarding President Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize, Time magazine reports Mark Fitzpatrick, Senior Fellow for Non-proliferation at the London-based International Institute of Strategic Studies, as commenting, “…it will be unhelpful in the domestic milieu.”
Now there is wry dry wit worthy of admiration.

Obama White House invited enemy prop for photo op
Written by Ray Roberts on October 6, 2009 – 9:59 pm -The White House pissed off far left doctors by not inviting any of them to Obama’s white coated melodrama yesterday but mistakenly invited a doctor totally hostile to any government run health care schemes.
“They had 16 hours to Google me, but I guess no one bothered,” Dr. Novack told Kathryn Serkes, Director of Policy and Public Affairs for the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) in a video interview available at www.TakeBackMedicine.com.
Dr. Novack says that it was very tempting to accept the “once-in-a-lifetime” invitation, but in the end, he had to say no. But it also makes him question whether the doctors who will be there today actually support the President, or even understand all of the details of the bills.
“Are these doctors just star-struck, or do they have real knowledge about what they are supporting?” asked Serkes. “It’s looking like another dog-and-pony-show, and doctors should not be used in this shameful manner. First the President vilifies them, now he wants their help.”
And that’s when he’s not just ignoring them. AAPS and other groups held a rally of 1,000 on Captiol Hill on Sept. 10. “Where was the President then?”
Dr. Eric Novak also was a guest on Freedom Watch yesterday

At last, Change!
Written by Stephen Bone on September 23, 2009 – 3:42 pm -Obama bans candy cigarettes — and it only took 8 months to accomplish. Wow, change and efficiency in one fell swoop!
FDA BANS FLAVORED CIGARETTESAs of today, it’s illegal in the U.S. to buy or sell most flavored cigarettes. However, the FDA ban does not include the most popular cigarette flavor: menthol. It does cover every other conceivable flavor, including candy, spice, herb, cola, fruit, and coffee flavors. The flavored-cigarette ban is the FDA’s first major anti-tobacco action since President Barack Obama signed the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act in June. The law gives the FDA the power to regulate tobacco products. The law doesn’t let FDA ban cigarettes entirely. But Congress has stated that flavors make cigarettes more appealing to youth and increase their exposure to toxic substances.

Slaughtering the Constitution: That wacky Rep. Louise Slaughter
Written by Ray Roberts on September 14, 2009 – 8:58 pm -Louis Slaughter attacks Debra J.M. Smith who called into a liberal Rochester radio show to voice her opposition to the Obama healthcare bill. Debra states her opposition on Constitutional grounds, that the U.S. Constitution does not grant the federal government the power to provide for the general welfare, which she is correct. Slaughter goes bat-shit off the deep end at such right wing extremist talk and launches a gratuitous attack on Debra, saying:
“I know who you are. I know exactly who you are. You are the woman, too, who believes that everyone with AIDS should be put on an island to die.”
That was embarrassing Louise. Tsk Tsk
The talk show host also thinks the preamble, which he reads out loud is some kind of grant of federal authority. Were all liberals cheated by government schools? Michael Boldin explained the preamble very succinctly and correctly on September 5th right here on PCD in his post Misunderstanding the Preamble:
“The preamble lays out the intentions or the reasons for the Constitution. It does not grant one ounce of power to the federal government.”
Slaughter also thinks the oath of office she took to “to protect and defend the Constitution” also included “to provide for the public welfare, and common defense”. Talk about making stuff up! Actually Louise that wasn’t in your oath, not by a long shot, but in Section 8 - Powers of Congress it does state that the Congressional powers include “provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States”. Got it Louise? Comprehension of the English language may not have been your strong point in school but “general Welfare of the United States” is not the same thing as your imaginary socialist power “provide for the public welfare”.
Debra has the audio of her confrontation with Louise Slaughter and the equally not very bright talk show host on her web site at debrajmsmith.com.

Government abuse of the Bully Pulpit; it can stop with you this Tuesday
Written by Stephen Bone on September 4, 2009 – 5:13 pm -Where did it start?
It started with the White House breaking the federal CAN-SPAM law in order to fill our e-mail inboxes with their health care agenda propaganda. It is one thing to have some fly-by-night shyster spamming you with medical nostrums and shady, too-good-to-be true financial deals; it is quite another to have the President of the United States spamming you with his equally questionable schemes. The spamming eventually blew up in the Obama Administration’s face and finally, after months of public controversy, the program was stopped.
Or did it?
Now the White House is skipping the home and going straight to the schools, to the impressionable, easily led astray minds of children.
This Tuesday, President Barack Obama is planning to broadcast a message directly into schools in order to sway the next generation to his Progressive agenda. [To be fair, it needs to be noted that President George H.W. Bush abused his position in a similar fashion back in 1991.] Ostensibly, Obama’s message will be about volunteerism, which any descent person supports, but as anyone who has seen the video that will accompany the President’s message knows, it is volunteerism with a twist – a twist of the arm that is.
Although the video if front-loaded with lots of benign statements and even noble sentiment, as it advances it descends into an appeal for far more than volunteerism. This is not a public service announcement; this is bald-faced propaganda. Except for the use of English and the lack of Brown Shirts, the video could easily have been produced in 1930’s Germany. If you are not convinced, go watch it.
The video is available on You Tube, the on-line video sharing service, at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqcPA1ysSbw

Glenn Beck on Obamacare
Written by Ray Roberts on August 9, 2009 – 10:21 pm -Because in the dime-store journalism of the MSM he is one of the few that has dug in and made some valuable observations in the healthcare debate. I guess that’s one reason why liberals hate him so much.

Cap and Trade in a Nutshell
Written by Michael Rebmann on June 25, 2009 – 11:32 am -Contact your representative today and demand that he/she not vote for the Cap and Trade bill tomorrow.
The decision by Congress to go with a “cap and trade” system over a more straightforward carbon tax, attempts to delude the American people into thinking that this is a “market-based approach.” When really it is an aristocratic-based approach.
Cap and trade would allow the industries that produce pollution to have a government-granted cartel over their respective industries. Just like other infamous cartels, including OPEC on oil and the AMA on doctors, this is bad news for the American people since it all drastically increases the cost of energy. This means that new companies that want to enter the market will have to buy credits that have already been auctioned off.
Each of these cartels creates high barriers to entry for new competitors. For example, “if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted,” as Obama stated on the campaign trail.
Even though it will be hard for a new company to set up shop in the energy industry, after this, the profits from this exclusive cartel will be given to Congress and not to the companies to reinvest into possible innovative efficiencies. This will only add more money to the congressional budget that will undoubtedly be handed out to special interests, undoubtedly in the form of ever-burgeoning “entitlements.”
For the average American, that means higher prices on energy, higher unemployment due to increased costs upon these companies, and even reduced economic output for the whole country causing a decrease in the average American’s income. [source]
Obama even admits, at the 40 second mark, that electricity rates will skyrocket, yet he still advocates this bill which will concentrate more wealth in the hands of a select few while hurting the business climate overall.

The hypocrisy of Liberals…
Written by Stephen Bone on May 14, 2009 – 9:00 am -For the last however many years, Liberals have been screaming to the high heavens about transparency and rendition and abused detainees — and they were right to do so. But suddenly it is their man who is pulling the strings, rather than a conservative Republican, and guess what, he’s doing the same thing: continuing the same closed system, continuing rendition, and now continuing to not release photos of abused prisoners.
Today’s “Quick Vote” poll on the über-liberal CNN reveals the hypocrisy of Liberals. The question: “Do you think the government should release all photos of alleged abuse detainees?” The results so far? Yes - 20% (19434 votes); No - (an appalling) 80% (75426).

CNN Poll Results on Abuse Photos
How much do you want to bet that most of the 20% consists of Ron Paul Republicans, capital “L,” party-member Libertarians and garden variety, small “l” libertarians (civil and/or economic)? With Liberals like we have in America, who needs Fascists? (Of course, with Conservatives like we have in American, who needs Communists?)

Mourn Change
Written by Stephen Bone on April 20, 2009 – 10:32 am -See “Torture Memos in a Nutshell” below.
Employees of the Bush Administration did this.
Now the Obama Administration say those employees shouldn’t be held accountable because the Bush Administration told them it wasn’t torture.
What kind of fool could not know that this was torture?
Hey, all you progressives, Greens, African-Americans, Gays, Democrats, libertarians, and other liberals who worked so hard to get Barrack Obama elected, where is the change you busted your asses for?

Nation’s First Chief Technology Officer?
Written by Stephen Bone on April 18, 2009 – 1:11 pm -On Saturday, President Obama appointed Virginia’s Secretary of Technology Aneesh Chopra as America’s first Chief Technology Officer. Many Americans may be surprised to discover that the U.S. has been almost 233 years without a technology czar, but it does explain why we’re such a backward nation that has never been able to contribute anything technologically meaningful to the advancement of mankind.
