The Solution to Slaughter

Written by James Ostrowski on June 10, 2010 – 10:50 pm -

Michael Giuliano, the young legal editor running against Louise Slaughter, came to the Tea Party Coalition candidates’ night the other day and I sat down with him afterwards for a chat. I like the kid (he’s 29). He’s got guts taking on both a congressional giant and the Republican machine. He showed far greater command of the issues than did his opponent, Jill Rowland (“I really don’t know what the Dept. of Education does.”) And he has a great dry sense of humor.

He’s the kind of candidate I have been looking for all year, young, fresh, new to politics. There are too many Harold Stassens in the movement and too many would-be politicians who confuse the good of the movement with their own grand cause of losing just one more time.

Plus, Mike’s a Ron Paul guy. Awesome. I won’t have to take a shower after the campaign.

So, I’m happy to say that I have joined his campaign staff. We are greased and ready to kick ass!

We are doing a Solution to Slaughter Money Bomb and asking 5000 people to donate five dollars to provide seed money for the campaign. Louise has a half million and will raise three more so this is peanuts. But the truth is on our side so don’t need as much as Louise.

Donate now.

Next, we need registered Republicans to carry petitions. Please send me an email if you can. jameso@apollo3.com

We are also looking for a clever videographer to make a humorous You Tube video launching the campaign. I am writing the script as we speak. Only if you are really good, work fast and cheap, call me at 716-435-8918.

And we need a good place for a beer party in Tonawanda.

Here’s a map of the crazy district.

Stay tuned for more news about the campaign.

Please pass this link around.

I thought running against Slaughter was a “suicide race”? You want people to donate to a suicide race?

There’s more at stake now. We can’t let the machine dictate candidates anymore. The Rowland issue was totally different. She had a great chance to beat Higgins and was pushed into a tougher race.

It has always been my view that Slaughter will be extremely tough to beat–but not impossible.

Along those lines too–a classic conservative like Jill can’t beat her–she can’t give Democrats and independents enough reasons to vote for her. Mike can.

I made the exact same argument in 2008 that only Ron Paul could win in November.

Debating if Slaughter is unbeatable will not result in her defeat. Taking a positive approach as Michael Giuliano (GiulianoForCongress.US) and going after her seat is the only right approach. If you give it your all, you might just succeed. True, running against Slaughter WAS a “suicide race”, but in today’s political climate with patriotic Americans finally waking up, and liberals loosing across the country, formerly unsinkable arrogant Slaughter might have finally sprung a leak. So forget the defeatist attitude and help Michael win.

I am proud that Michael has chosen me as his webmaster, as I lived in Louise’s district for well over quarter of a century, and can’t stand Louise, So it is my extreme pleasure to help Michael work towards her defeat. All my partiality aside, I truly believe Michael is the only candidate running that deserves the seat, as he is running from the heart, and knows the issues, which is more then we can say for a former football player that toyed with the idea, and now a clueless dentist that was pushed into the race.

Neither candidate has chance unless Slaughter does something criminal in October. Let’s help this guy get name recognition for a future race, and if something crazy happens and he wins so much the better. Also, Langworthy needs to be taught a lesson, and beating every candidate he backs is a great way to do so. We need to beat Domagalski, beat Rowland, and beat Roberto. Thats why I really hope DiPietro switches over or a candidate of his caliber emerges to take Roberto out, ASAP, time is short.

“He showed far greater command of the issues than did his opponent, Jill Rowland (”I really don’t know what the Dept. of Education does.”)”
–I distinctly remember you assuring me she was brilliant. My, how times, and allegiances change, with every wisp of the wind.

Beat Rowland, beat Roberto.. I thought our shared mission was to beat the frivolous big spenders. Did you all forget the mission?

  7. The Root of the Tea Party Schism in WNY | WNYmedia.net Says:

[...] around WNY, promoting her as the great hope against Brian Higgins for months, Jim Ostrowski has now taken to insulting the intelligence of Dr. Jill Rowland, who is running for Louise Slaughter’s seat, and who is no longer employing Mr. Ostrowski. [...]

  8. James OstrowskiNo Gravatar Says:

My goal is to beat Slaughter and Higgins, not Roberto or Rowland.

And I have not switched allegiances. I never agreed to support Lenny’s seventh campaign. My God, do we have other candidates other than Roberto ever?

And I never agreed to support Rowland for Slaughter’s seat. Rowland is the one who switched, from confirmed tea party candidate against Higgins to the machine candidate against Slaughter.

Had I been working for Jill as her consultant, I would have taken her aside and said, you can’t run for Congress and not know what the Dept. of Education does. Yet, after all these phony promises of support from the machine, she showed up alone (a big mistake), with no literature (horrible) and was not impressive in her presentation.

    Very very sad.

I think this change of heart has completely discredited Ostrowski. Giuliani was completely outclassed by Rowland tonight at the Tea New York event.

Roberto got one of only two standing ovations and most people said he was absolutely dynamic.

Let’s admit something: Langworthy may be a political genius and is scaring the tar out of the Democratic machine with both these candidates.

Both of them sure are exciting.

On the other hand, Giuliani seems like Ed Grimley form SNL if you ask me.

  10. James OstrowskiNo Gravatar Says:

Gee, the exact opposite happened at our candidates night. What happened last night was what we call in sports a “home job.”

Alas, you contradict yourself. My view was that Jill was a much better candidate than Roberto but when she sold out to the machine, I had to disassociate myself from her campaign. It wasn’t style but substance.

Before you say anything about anyone Joe maybe you should learn how to spell for one and second open your ears. Also you’re a big man and big mouth but no name – what a shame. Apparently you cannot hear. I guess. All that aside I spoke to Jill Rowland myself at the meeting. I told her if Michael GIULIANO does not win God willing she does. Her response was I do not care who wins as long as Mike or I do. So in short both candidates are equally deserving of winning. Sorry but they are. Before you make an ASSumption from one meeting, fully research each candidate. If you cannot take the time to do that before shooting your mouth off apparently you are not as concerned about the problem as you say you are. BTW I am communications director for Giuliano for Congress.
