Blockbuster Book on American Mafia Published

Buffalo, NY, July 16, 2012. Cazenovia Books has published an exciting new book on the American Mafia: The Real Teflon Don: How An Elite Team of New York State Troopers Helped Take Down America’s Most Powerful Mafia Family, by Matt Gryta with George Karalus. Gryta is a veteran crime and court reporter while Karalus was a member of the elite team that for eight years battled the Mob’s most powerful crime Don—Stefano Magaddino. Magaddino ruled longer and controlled a larger territory than any other Mafia boss in the 20th Century.

The authors will hold their first book signing at Dog Ears Bookstore, 688 Abbott Road South Buffalo, NY 14220, (716) 823-2665, on Saturday, July 28th from 5-7pm. The event is free and open to the public. Wine and cheese will be served.

The Real Teflon Don tells the story of how a secret NY State Police unit, hidden away on the grounds of a state mental hospital in Buffalo, electronically monitored Mob activities throughout Western New York and drove the Mafia crazy by staying one step ahead of the crooks and breaking up many of their lucrative criminal activities such as gambling and high-end burglaries.

The book is filled with fresh insights into Mafia operations and startling revelations such as how Nelson Rockefeller may have used information from State Police wiretaps to persuade a political opponent to drop out of the presidential race in 1964.

Looks like a great read, thanks for the heads up.

Odd, though — the Tea Party opposes gubmit interference with hard-working ‘murkin private enterprise.

  2. RayNo Gravatar Says:

Bbill, the Mafia is an example of private enterprise run like a government.
