The topic will be on the neocon infestation of the right and the liberal warmongers behind Obama. (Basically, when it comes to foreign policy, the two parties are identical because they’re both controlled by globalists*.) This is my second broadcast on the Sentinel Radio network. You can call in live at (646) 727-2652 at 7:00 PM eastern time on 5/5/09. We will be webcast live from Sentinel Radio.
Archive is available here.

[...] While Eland is right about the cancer-like neocons, he is way off stating that the immigration issue will cost the GOP votes. The liberal immigration policies trumpeted by Bush and McCain blew up in their faces. A party proclaiming to restore limited government will not find political capital in trying to “sell” free markets to new immigrants or using a racial political strategy of appealing to minorities. Those policies work for statists & collectivists, not libertarian conservatives. Also, Eland makes the often repeated claim that the GOP needs to become more liberal on social issues (i.e. jettison Judeo-Christian principles) to gain votes. Socially conservative positions on abortion and similar issues are wildly popular with the most dedicated voters and abandoning them would be political suicide for anyone hoping to make headway on the right. A huge and growing voting bloc of Evangelical home-schoolers will be an integral constituency for anyone seeking a return to laissez faire. BUT, and this is a big “but,” social conservatives need to approach these issues from a standpoint of federalism. As in “I personally oppose abortion and gay marriage but I respect the constitutional restraints on the federal government to not govern in these areas, thereby leaving them state matters.” Basically, leave it to the states where they belong. Pushing social conservatism at the federal level is both a waste of time and counter-productive but that doesn’t mean politicians from the right should adopt a secular, progressive stance on social issues. The latter would prove to be more politically disastrous than the neocon’s insane foreign policy. I’ll be discussing this in depth on my show tonight. [...]
