The hypocrisy of Liberals…
Written by Stephen Bone on May 14, 2009 – 9:00 am -For the last however many years, Liberals have been screaming to the high heavens about transparency and rendition and abused detainees — and they were right to do so. But suddenly it is their man who is pulling the strings, rather than a conservative Republican, and guess what, he’s doing the same thing: continuing the same closed system, continuing rendition, and now continuing to not release photos of abused prisoners.
Today’s “Quick Vote” poll on the über-liberal CNN reveals the hypocrisy of Liberals. The question: “Do you think the government should release all photos of alleged abuse detainees?” The results so far? Yes - 20% (19434 votes); No - (an appalling) 80% (75426).

CNN Poll Results on Abuse Photos
How much do you want to bet that most of the 20% consists of Ron Paul Republicans, capital “L,” party-member Libertarians and garden variety, small “l” libertarians (civil and/or economic)? With Liberals like we have in America, who needs Fascists? (Of course, with Conservatives like we have in American, who needs Communists?)

Jeez, what was that?
Written by Stephen Bone on May 4, 2009 – 10:30 am -That big bump you just felt under the wheels on your morning commute was the LGBT Community being thrown under the bus by Barack Obama’s administration and Nancy Pelosi’s Democratic congress. (Warning, some may find the content on the linked news pages not to their preference.)
Over the weekend, the White House website removed the page explicitly outlining its rather radical eight-point agenda supporting the LGBT Community, and replaced it with a tepid two-point support statement that highlights instead traditional New Left civil rights reforms.
The message to the last hatefully discriminated-against group of American citizens is clear, “Thank you for your votes, now please close the door behind you on your way out.”
When are they going to learn? The Feds and radical Progressives currently controlling the Democratic Party cannot be trusted.
The only significant advances the LGBT community is achieving are in the States (Massachusetts, Iowa, Connecticut, Vermont, etc), and therefore they should be supporting civil libertarians, the libertarian state sovereignty movement, and the 10th Amendment as the key step to achieving their equality. After all, it was the Libertarian Party that was the first major political party to openly endorse equal rights (including marriage rights) for all citizens way back in 1972 — long before the Democrats were willing to even touch the issue.
Would it not be better to have something (a few safe havens) at the State level, than nothing (except exploitation) at the Federal level?
I was warning voters eight months ago that only the radical neo-con conservatives were likely to end up being pleased with an Obama administration. I hate being right so often.

Entrepreneurs for Liberty
Written by Patrick Krey on February 21, 2009 – 11:20 am -That’s what the authors of PCD are. Call us what you will: libertarians, paleolibertarians, paleoconservatives, constitutionalists, traditional conservatives, individualists, anti-statists, anti-globalists, classical liberals, etc. But, ultimately, we’re entrepreneurs for liberty in the marketplace of ideas. We will use our creative minds to market liberty and freedom in opposition to the mainstream statist opinions of the day. In a time when our nation is descending further and further into the type of tyrannical government* our Founders declared independence from, we will use our words and nonviolent actions to challenge the establishment consensus. It might get worse before it gets better but we won’t quit. And we will win because, eventually, freedom always does.
*And this is not just because of Obama … our descent began a long time ago and Barry, as I like to call him, is just the latest in a long line of figureheads for our power grabbing political class.

Libertarians and Immigration Policy
Written by Patrick Krey on November 21, 2008 – 12:25 pm -One area where some libertarians I normally agree with run off the rails is the “open-borders” argument. I’d agree with it in terms of America of the late 19th century but think it’s out-of-touch with reality in terms of the 2008 leviathan government we now suffer under. This essay does a great job of breaking it down. Here’s an excerpt:
Immigration is just another government program, importing tax liabilities in the form of welfare cases, business liabilities in the form of affirmative action problems, and criminals against whom you’re not allowed to defend yourself, and last but not least, importing political liabilities, in the form of voters who don’t believe in freedom.
Libertarians who think that unrestricted immigration is an unmixed good should remind themselves that included in the baggage many immigrants bring with them is a tradition of statism, and that for every one who thinks like Tibor Machan there are a dozen who think like John Kenneth Galbraith or George Soros.
Perhaps we should ask ourselves if unrestricted immigration to a democratic country is likely to increase human freedom, or decrease it.

New Strategy
Written by Patrick Krey on November 5, 2008 – 5:53 am -I propose a change in strategy: Declare war on bipartisanship! Both Barry and Johnny encouraged us to “unite” and “work together.” Forget that! Rolling back the size of government is out of reach for now. Our new goal is gridlock. This will be tough considering the clean sweep by the Dems but we need to play both sides of the fence. Get Obama to have his Justice Department investigate the crimes of the Bush Administration. Work with the Republican grassroots to uncover every little detail about Barack’s past. Encourage partisan bickering and divisiveness. Throw gasoline on the fire in every possible way! Promote intraparty fighting at every turn. Turn Dems against Dems over Barry’s neoimperialism. The possibilities are endless. Let’s be dividers not uniters! Libertarian populism like you’ve never seen before. It’s time to start turning some heads.
